10 Baby Nursery Ideas – Design the Perfect Room for Your New Baby
As you think about the way you want to decorate your nursery you may become overwhelmed. There are so many choices of colors, patterns and themes for baby bedding now. This collection of ideas covers just a few of the hundreds of choices that you could make.
1) Nursery Rhyme decor is one of the most popular. The colors are bright and exciting an they will grow with your child all the way up into the reading years. There is also no shortage of nursery bedding or decoration since these designs are truly timeless.
2) Classice Characters. Nursery themes that revolve around characters such as Snoopy, Phooh, or Mickey Mouse will never go out of style. These classic themes will also stay with your child for years to come. This is another example of finding many accesories and baby bedding sets that you will be able to choose from. Most likely you will be able to mix and match in between the sets as well.
3) Creature Themes. These nursery themes are great if you don’t know exactly what you are having. Everyone loves a baby with cute cuddly animals and bugs all over them. Some of my favorite are the farm baby bedding themes. These are so adorable with there farm animals and gingham designs. Colors are usually bright blues and yellows that make for a bright and happy farm themed nursery.
4) The movie Cars has re-excited a lot of old themes revolving around cars. Fire Truck baby bedding is still among on of the most popular baby bedding themes out there. If you want to be a little more creative you could try something with airplanes or an old train theme. Harley Davidson has even got on the ball with some new baby bedding. Kids love anything with a motor and wheels so any of these would be great for your little one but most of these baby bedding themes are geared toward baby boy bedding.
5) Nautical Themes. These are great baby bedding as well as nursery themes but they are almost always geared towards a boy. Also you really need to be a fan of sailing since most of the themes tend to be done in darker colors like dark navy. This can be a great nursery theme if done correctly but can make your nursery look dark if it is done the wrong way.
6) Sports. This one has been done forever and will always be popular. Dads, for obviously reasons, really love this one for their little athletes. The great thing about this nursery theme is that you will be able to mix and match and make a lot of your own decorations.
7) Stars. This is a great nursery theme that I don’t see most people use as ofter as I would like. I have seen this pulled off using sun, moon and stars for a baby girl or using stars, planets and space ships for a boy. This really creates a unique nursery with truly unique baby bedding.
Patchwork. Although I think this one and farm baby bedding are almost the same the biggest difference is that with this nursery theme you really don’t have the cute little animals. I find that the people that go with this nursery theme are usually quilt makers and wind up making all of the decorations in the room. As far as unique baby bedding. No two quilts will be the same.
9) Vintage. This one can become quite expensive since you really need to have some nice antiques or some ornate baby furniture. When I see this done it is usually parents that like things European expecially french country themes.
10) Care Bears. This is probably my least favorite. Not because I hate the care bears but because this theme always seems to be to loud and gaudy. Instead of have a few care bears here and there it is more like care bear overload. If you like this theme feature a few bears in your nursery instead of having every square inch of your walls, floor, and ceiling covered in bears.
I hope these 10 tips and ideas have helped you decide how you want to decorate this most important room in your house. Just remember you are going to creat a lot of memories in this room and be spending a lot of time in it. However you decide to decorate it needs to be a sanctuary for both you and your baby.
